Your burning questions all answered below.

Where is the studio?

My home studio is located near Butler Creek Park. Once we've confirmed the appointment, I'll send you the address.

How should I prepare for my first lesson?

Prior to getting you on the equipment, you'll need to complete the liability waiver sent to you.

What should I bring?

Really, you don't need to bring anything except yourself and a water bottle if you like.

What should I wear?

It's easiest for me to notice alignment and form with clothes that are more form-fitting. Pilates equipment does have springs in which loose hanging fabric could get caught, so excessively loose clothing could possibly get caught. That said, it's important for you to feel comfortable and in your element, so if you don't feel at home in tight clothes, I understand and am happy to work around that.

Do I wear shoes? Socks?

Pilates is a no-shoes workout since ankle mobility and strength is a major focus. You're welcome to come barefoot or wear socks, though! Grippy socks can be helpful since regular socks sometimes slip in certain exercises. If you prefer to wear socks and don't have grippy ones, I can add a grip pad to reduce slipping. We have options to make you comfortable and safe!

When should I arrive?

Arriving 5-10 minutes before your session is advised. Any late arrivals will need to cut into your lesson since they are generally scheduled with a narrow window between appointments dedicated to clean up.

What if I'm late?

Sometimes, being late is unavoidable (traffic, accidents, life etc.). As soon as you know, giving me a quick heads up is super helpful to me. You will still be charged for the full session, but if you'd still like to make it out for a shortened session, I'm happy to still honor the rest of the time paid for. I work with a narrow window of time between clients which is reserved for clean up so shifting the time slot doesn't typically work.

What if I need to cancel?

24 hour notice of cancellation is required. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged full price and are considered "late cancellations". Cancellation without charge is permitted when a minimum of 24 hours notice is given. In the event that you do need to late cancel and you know someone you would like to have take your appointment, let's chat!

As a small business that depends on the income from the services I provide, late cancellations and no-shows impact my livelihood. An occasional emergency may happen, but persistent patterns that hurt my ability to meet my financial needs may lead to a termination of our relationship so that I may free up space for individuals who are able to meet my guidelines.

What if I need to reschedule?

24 hour notice of rescheduling is required. Rescheduling of an appointment given less than 24 hours in advance will result in a full charge for that session.

What if I have an injury?

I'm currently working on an advanced certification to better support clients dealing with injuries. This will allow me to be more informed in deciding which exercises might aggravate or support recovery. With that said, I'm not a medically trained professional and so it's not within my scope to diagnose or treat injuries. Pilates is often used as a supplemental exercise for folks going through Physical Therapy though, and I'm happy to implement exercises recommended by your medical professional!

Should I wear a mask?

If you're sick, I'd appreciate rescheduling the appointment to minimize spread to at-risk populations I teach. If think you may have been around someone sick or wish to practice caution, you are more than welcome to wear a mask and I'm happy to do so to during your session. The equipment will be well sanitized between sessions and sanitizer will be provided.
